—The Chairman moved the adoption of the reports and accounts. He said that a good deal of gold had been obtained during the year, the proceeds of which had been used in still further prospecting the mine. A heavy item in their expenditure had been £4000 for calls to the United Pumping Association, and rendered necessary for drainage, without which they could not have worked the deep levels.—Dr. Campbell seconded the motion, which was put and carried unanimously.—On the motion of Mr. J. T. Garlick, seconded by Mr. Thompson, Mr. C. J. Stone was. re-elected a director of the company.—Mr. Stone thanked the shareholders for the confidence which they had manifested in him. He felt a deep interest in the mine, aadlioped that their patience and exertions would yet': be rewarded. The Caledonian' was not done with yet, and there was reason to believe that like the Manukau, .which after a season of adversity had fallen upon rich gold, they would yet again strike the lode.:—The meeting then concluded.
