[from our own correspondents. ] THAMES, Saturday. The Moanatairi crushed 750 tons of stone during the fortnight for 31G ozs. retorted gold. The Golden Crown crushed 48 tons for 33 ozs. 15 dwts. melted gold, principally from Xo. 3 and the hangmgwall leader. The reef being followed towards the Manukau So. 2 winze south continues to improve in constitution. The Kuranui Company lodged S9 ozs. retorted gold. The Queen of Beauty have lodged So9i ozs. retorted gold, the result of the fortnight's crushing with G2 stampers. The Alburnia will clean up on Tuesday, after crushing during the month only about IS days, and the yield should reach close upon 350 ozs. of gold. There will be 800 ozs. of amalgam by Monday from general stuff, exclusive of what may be got from the 1J cwt. of specimens, &c. The Albion Company (Poverty tribute) are crushing about 50 tons of stone ; a yield of over 3 ozs. of gold per ton is expected. They crushed about 100 lbs. specimens, and obtained iM3 ozs. of amalgair. The Junction tribute ci-usliing is looking very well. Market: —Sellers : Caledonian, £9 15s ; Old Whan, 47s Gd ; Alburnia, 37s 6d, new 32s Gd ; Black Angel, 4s 9d ; Coliban, 3s ; Cure, lis; Nonpareil (new), 2s 9d; Bright Smile, -<-'4; Exchange, 235. Buyers : Caledonian, £9 5s ; Cure, 10s ; City of London, 27 s. Prior to the closing of this evening's 'Change a serious fracas occurred between two speculators ; blows were freely exchanged. COROMANDEL, Saturday. The Royal Oak manager is expected to break down more rich specimens to-night. The Three Brothers general stuff is shaping for 2i ozs. to the ton. The Ciiy of Auckland got more specimens from the stope to-day. The Whangapoua mail man reports continued heavy rains, and an increase in l l >e quantity of logs at the mill booms for both Macfarlane's and Harris's mills. It is estimated that the late freshes will have carried down close on 1000 logs from the different creeks. At the Tiki a miner named Gardiner met with a severe accident. Sunday. The Ro3'al Oak got nearly 200 lbs. of specimens and picked stone yesterday, some very rich. The Government Insurance travelling agent here, Mr. Mooney, has made a successful tour through the Whangapoua district. Bishop Cowie preached to a large congregation to-day. His lecture to-morrow evening promises to be a great success. The Comptroller of the Colony returns to Auckland by the next steamer, after transacting Government business.
