Giving an outline of the history of the art. 3. Explaining the origin of what is known as the musical scale, and the power of the human voice with regard to it. 4. Observations on the various systems that have been adopted for the purpose of giving instruction in music, enunciating under this head the principles which appeared to him most feasible, and concluded by shewing the importance of the general cultivation of the art.
