HIGHWAY BOARDS EMPOWERING ACT, 1871.

An application was made yesterday forenoon, at the ProTincial Government offices, to his Honor the Superintendent, by the Titiraugi Highway Board, to take a new" lino of road through the properties of Mr. Pugh, Mrs. Bishop, and others. Mr. Pugh and Mrs. [ Bishop objected, and the question of the validity of the above objection came on for hearing under the above Act. The evidence of objectors, and of the chairman and members of the Board, were taken. Surveyors on either side were also examined. The two main questions for inquiry were:—(l.) Whether .the proposed new line of road was being taken through ground planted with trees for ornament and shelter, and through garden erounds, the property of Mrs.'.BUhop ? and (2) whether the of the ro,.'u was necessary ? Tfu* decision upon tho eviucnos was reserved by his Honor the Superintendent.
