NAVAL INTELLIGENCE.
H.M.'s gunboat' Alacrity, arrived in port recently from Jjevuka, and has been engaged in suppressing tho South Sea slave trade. The officer in charge is awuiting instructions from the captain of H.M.S. Blanche. H.M.S. Blanciie arrived at Wellington, on Tuesday afternoon, the lOLli of Februury. She left Levuka on the 6th January. The Commodore and the Consul hail arrived from England. The Blanche arrived at Apia on January 14. The object of going to Apia (ono of tho Navigator Group) was to settle the claims of British subjects ugaiust Samoan natives, and enforce awards of payments made by Captain Douglass, of tho Corsair, \rhicb natives ignored. After five' days palaver the fines were paid, and tho remainder of the claims settled. Left Apia on tho 25th ; had light winds until the last three days. She left Sydney on 14th July, and since then has been stationed at Fiji. She will remain in New Zealand probably till May. She leaves Wellington iu a few days for Auckland and Campbell's Islands, returning lo Auckland.
