POLICE COURT.—Saturday.
[Before Thomas Bcckham, Esq., R.M.] Drunkennt'tS. —Four persons were punished for this offence. Lakceny.—Oathorine Baker was again-re-manded upon the above charge.—Robert Flood was charged with stealing one grey blanket, valued 12s, the property of Wiiliam Earey, on or about tho 9th instant. Several witnesses proved the fact that the blanket produced lmd been missing, and that tho prisoner had sold it. There wus a large list of convictions against him. The Bench considered the evidence most conclusive. Tho prisoner denied the charge but was sentenced to six months' imprisonment with hard labour. Mbrchakt Shipping Act. —Henry West pleaded guilty to being absent without leave from the ship Countess of Kinlore, und was sentenced to seven days' imprisonment, with liard labour.
