Smith and Anderson. INTERIM SECRETARY: Mr. Richard H. Leary. There is no branch of commercial enterprise in New Zealand which presents such a favourable opening for the investment of capital as that of Fire and Marino Insurance. The success which has attended the establishment of the "New Zealand" and " South British " Companies, is a proof of this. The business of Eire and Marino Insurance is so rapidly increasing, that tlicro is ample room for another company in this colony. Largely-increased facilities for covering this class of risk are imperatively required, and the National Insurance Company is founded to supply this want. This company is not started in opposition to any of the other New Zealand Companies, but is intended to co-operate with them in fostering the Trade and Commerce of the colony, and concentrating in the country the large capital which is annually drafted out of it by foreign insurance companies. In order to mako this a purely colonial company, and to ensure a large amount of business through the influence of its shareholders, it is proposed to distribute the shares over the whole colony, and in their allotment to keep in view the ability of shareholders to influence business to the Company. CO,OOO Shares will be reserved for the Northern provinces. The operations of this Company will be conducted on sound principles, and extreme caution will bo exorcised in the selection of risks. It is intended that the Articles of Association shall provide for the Election of Local Boards of Directors by the shareholders in the chief commercial centres of tlio colony. The. amount proposed to be called up will, it is estimated, be a Sufficient Paid-up Capital to warrant the Company in commencing operations, and it is not anticipated that any further Call will be necessary. The Provisional Directors have secured the services of Mr. A. Hill Jack, the present Resident Secretary of the Victoria Insurance Company in New Zealand, as General Manager of this Company. Applications for Shares will be received by the Branches of the National Bank of New Zealand in the various provinces, and by _ HENDERSON AND MACFARLANE, 14, Queen-street, Auckland.
"TVTATIONAL FIRE AND MARINE _LM INSURANCE COMPANY OF NEW ZEALAND. The Share Lists throughout thG Colony will bo CLOSED on MONDAY, Sept. 22. , IIENDEtiSON & MACFARLANE. Electoral.
