MEETING OF SHAREHOLDERS.
Roxili Oak.—An extraordinary meeting of shareholders in the Royal Oak mine took place on Thursday morning, at the Bridge Hotel, Coromandel, when Mr. F. Woollams was in the chair. The meeting was called in accordance with a resolution passed at the last half yearly meeting, and was for tho purpose of considering the advisability of allotting the reserve shares at present hold by the company, amounting to 600. After some discussion aB to the desirability or otherwise of allotting them, it was proposed by Mr. Whelan, " That the 600 shares be allotted to the present shareholders pro rata, and that tho books be closed for that purpose on Thursday next, the 18th inat."—Carried.—Mr. Douglas proposed, and Mr. Horno seconded, " That in view of tho allotment of ono share to every nine shares," now decided >ipon, shareholders holding a number of Bhares which will not divide equally by nine, be allowed one month from the date of closing the books, to enable them to purchase or sell shares, in order to equalise their numbers. Any shares not taken up at the end of the month to bo sold at auction, and tho proceeds, after deducting expenses, to be divided pro fata amongstthoseshareholders whose holdings may have been such aB to render it impossible for them to receive an equitable allotment."— Carried.— It was resolved, "That the direogive seven days' notice of the sale of any shares to be disposed of at auction, and that such sale should take place at Coromandel."— After the minutes of the meetiug had beon confirmed, a vote of thanks was accorded to the chairman, and the meeting separated.— [Correspondent.]
