•JT- O T - I C E. | "THE NEW ZEALAND HERALD." The current Qtfarter of the New Zealand Herald expires on the 30th instant. Intending subscribers will please send in their names and addresses to the Publisher as early as convenient. The Herald is now—after great attention to its management and a most liberal expenditure—admitted beyond dispute to be the leading journal of the Colony. Its Commercial articles, compiled with great care, and the information obtained through the best channels, aro now quoted throughout this and the sister Colonies as €*i thoroughly reliable guide as to the j state of our markets. Tho same remarks apply with equal justness to the Shipping intelligence to be found in its columns. Wo expense is spared in obtaining the latest and fullest Telegraphic information from general and special correspondents; whilst intelligent and trustworthy journalists, both inside and beyond the Colony, furnish the readers of the Herald with information of special as well as general interest. The character which the Heral» has earned for its able, lucid, and well-digested Law Reports will continue to be maintained. The proceedings in our Colonial Parliament, in our Provincial and Municipal Councils, and of the various Boards and incorporated bodies will be found fully and impartially chronicled. While for Commercial, Shipping, Political and Telegraphic intelligence the Herald will be found quite equal to the best-conducted newspapers at the chief centres of the Colony, the General Reading matter will be found so varied and admirably collated as to furnish something suitable to the tastes of all classes of readers. The subscription to the New Zealand Herald is 10s. per Quarter, ir. advance; 12s. 6d. if booked. "THE "WEEKLY HERALD" Contains twenty-four closely printed pages, of the same size as the Melbourne Australasian. It embraces thewholo News of the Week; Talcs, original, selected, or copyright; humorous Essays; amusing Sketches and Extracts from the leading publications of the Old and New Worlds; Political Opinions freely and intelligently expressed; Current Topics; and all matters of Social and Domestic interest are duly cared for. The large additions constantly being made to the subscription list of the Weekly Herald affords a sufficient guarantee to the Proprietor that his efforts have been appreciated to the full extent of his expectations.. Tne Country Edition is published on Friday, and the Town Edition on Saturday mornings. The subscription to the Wjskkly Herald i 3 ss. per Quarter; os. if posted. THE "HERALD" MONTHLY SUMMARY Is issued on the day previous to the departure of each mail. It contains a careful digest of the whole of the occurrences of the month subsequent to the despatch of the precsding mail. It will bo found to afford a large amount of information likely to prove useful to intending emigrants, while, /or new arrivals or old colonists alike, no better or cheaper medium exists for conveying reliable intelligence as to what is passing in the land of their adoption. The Herald Monthly Summary is posted for 7s. per Annum.
