In the Resident AlagUtrule's Court, on Wednesday, before R. C. Oarstow, Esq., It.M., the following cases were heard : — DiurNKENKESs. —A. Muir and X 7. Swanson for tl:is, olfeiice, were iiued in the usual amount. OrsiOEN*: Laxguagr.—E. Jones, charged with this offence, which was proved by Constable Greene and another witness, was sentenced lo pay 20s and costs, or seven days' hard labour. Insulting Language.--Elizabeth Cullen was charged with using provoking language to a neighbour named Mrs. iJrodrick. — The charge wus proved, and the defendant ordered, to be bound over to keep the peace for three months. CATTIte RiisCCE. —Surah JleCutcheon. was eharged by -Mrs. Addison with rescuing five liead of cattle, la .■.-fully in churgc for the purpose of impounding.—After several witnesses for pluintilf had beeu heard, Ui3 Worship dismissed the case, plaintift' having neglected to prove that the cattle were lawfully in possession. Civil Case. —Nicboll v. Howe.—Claim £1 0s Cd.—Judgment for 143 93, and costs (333).
