POLICE COURT-Wednesday.

(Before P. A. Philips, Esq., Mayor). DatJHKEHNKSS. —Six persons pleaded guilty to this offence, and were puniahed in the usual manner. VAGHtAMT ACT. —Mary Walton, for haying no lawful and vieible inesna of support, and being an incorrigible rogue and vagabond, was sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment.— Anthony E. Cowan, for a similar offence, waa sentenced to three months' imprisonment with hard labour. —Patrick Lynoh was charged with a similar offence. This case was remanded for the Relieving Officer to be consulted on the matter.—Alice Mills was charged, under the aboTe Act, with making use of abusive language towards Samuel Young, at 1 a.m. on the

15th inst. The case was proved by the pro secutor," who also stated that he did not wish to press the charge. The Bench took a merciful view of the case, and discharged the prisoner with a caution.

The defendant failed to prove an ttlabi, and was sentenced to thirty days' imprisonment. Assault.—William Bates, an A.B. on board the Glenhuntly, was charged with assaulting Arthur Morris Sharkey, an apprentice on board tho same vessel, on the high sens on the 11th inst. The defendant pleaded guilty, and was fined 20s and costs.with the alternative of thirty days' imprisonment.
