NAPIER. The Star of the South leaves for Auckland to-night, with a C3rgo of sheep. The Robert Henderson saile for London tonight, with a cargo of wool, &c, valued at £57,250. DUaNEDIN. Large fire in George-street this morning. It destroyed the lithographic premises of Mr. George; those of Mr. Kobson, tailor; Gilchrist, p3i"uter ; Algie, fancy warehouse ; and part of Coventry's, tinsmith.; other damage wa; done. The cause of the fire unknown. Damage estimated at £2000. Mr. George is insured in the Hoyal for £250; Gilchrist, Bo.val £200, and Victoria £250; Coventry, in New Zealand, £200 ; Algie, in Roval, £125. CHRISTCHURCH. Owing to drought the crops will be 15 to 18 per cent, below the average of last year. [pBOK THE " STA3."] Waieato.—Several natives are leaving for Maungatautari. It is uncertain whether the Eug and Manuhiri will be present at the meeting.—Tawhiao is reported to be much annoyed at the statement that he had asked the Government for flour and provisions. TirBANGA.— i'he Ngaeterangi natives have decided to wait for a letter from the King before attending the meeting at Waikato on the 21st January. Only the Queenite natives will go.
