GOVERNMENT VACCINATION.
De. ParLSOX has corrected us on one or two non-essential points in reference to our leading article of yesterday, lie says that the letter received from Welliugtou was signed by G. S. Cooper, UnderSecretary; therefore, he infers that he was expected to report to the Under-Secre-tary. We take leave, however, to think that this was an extremely loose way ot' doing business on tlie part of the Government, although by no means an unusual way. Further, Dr. Philson says : — " The lymph first tried by iue failed, but in subsequent trials succeeded perfectly, and I have now a stock of genuine active lymph, and have no cause or wish to throw odium on the Government." Iliis statement is quite consistent with the remarks in our article. The telegram from Mr. Gisborne is enough to justify everything we have written —and more.
