The usual weekly meeting of the committee of the Agricultural League was held on Saturday afternoon, at Sceata' British Hotel, Albyn Martin, Esq, President of the Association, in the chair. Some discussion took place on the question of the alteration of the market day, and considerable dissatisfaction was expressed at the course which had been taken in the matter. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence was then read from different parts of the country, on the subject of the Leugue, and in favor of it. Several of the writers were of opinion that the subscription of 10s per annum was too high. A letter was read from Mr. John Williamson, iI.H.K., stating that the petition of the League, as forivarded to him, had been presented to the House.— Mr. Woolfield moved, "That after the next meeting it would be desirable for the League to meet monthly instead of weekly, and -.it Otahuhu.—Seconded by Mr. Every Maclean. —Mr. Kempthorno gave several notices of motion. —Mr. Kenipthorne read a paper which he had drawn up, with regard to tbe objects of the League.—The paper appeared to have been founded upon the remarks of Mr. Every Maclean at ti previous meeting. — Mr. Crispe thought that brevity was the soul of wit, and that the paper read by Mr. Kempthorne would never be read by the public, it was too long.—After some desultory discussion, the meeting was adjourned until next Saturday.
