DR. CROKE AT COROMANDEL.

Ox Thursday last., the Kt. Kev. Dr. Croke visited Coromandel, and was received by a committee of gentlemen on horseback, lie was escorted to tho house of Mr. Lynch, and the following address was read by Mr. aruCubc:--" On behalf of the Roman Catholics of Coromaiidel, we greet your Lordship with a hearty welcome on your iirst visit to this remote part of the extensive dweean under your pastoral charge. At the same time we sincerely thank you for the proinpiiude wi'.h which you haTe come to attend to tho spiritual aud temporal wants of the district. We most earnestly trust and pray that, your Lordship may be eminently successful i<l '-he discharge of tin; iinportantdutie.3 enti iij-t.ed to your care, and that your life may louj; be spared to carry on the gloriom work assigned you by our Holy Father. We also hope th:it; your Lordship will hare no cause to regret !c:.ving the dear old land .Saint Patrick—to which our thoughts ao oft fly back, th:it holy Isle where the Church of Christ i≤ glorious, notwithstanding the umuy persecutions to which it has been subjected.
