BALL TO THE NON-COMMIS-SIONED OFFICERS OF 18th R.I.

Yesterday evening a ball was given to the non-commissioned officers of the 18th R. 1., 'by the civilians of Auckland in the Parnell Hall. There were about 250 persons present. The programme was arranged by Mr. Quin, and' previous to it* completion supper was partaken of by those present (Major Ibbetsou in the chair), after which the usual loyal and patriotic toasts were given; alsa, the health - of the 18th II 1., which being duly responded to, the company rosumed dancing, and kept it up to an early hour.
