The remaining thirteen heads of the battery are on stuff from tho company's mines. JUNCTION GOLD MINING COMPACT. The crushing for this company at the Kuranui battery is now at on end, and and the retorting takes place to-morrow, when I hope to be able to send you the results. KELLY'S GOLD MINING COMPANY; About 100 tons of stuff is to grass from the old workings, and it is intended to have a crushing in a short time. The manager is pushing forward the tunnel which was lately commenced at a few feet above the creek. It is now in about 50 Feet, and at the distance of 110 feet the Belfast leader is expected to be cut. POINTEUSSELL. The Company are steadily pushing forward their low level tunnel in an N.E. direction, which is in 148 feet, and at this point they commenced to drive a cross cut in a -.K. direction, to cut the main reef which is found in the middle level. It is expected to be found with a few feet more driving, when it will be followed to the winze which is descending from the next level. In the middle level the winze is being sunk on the main reef, which is feet thick, with the intention of pushing it down to the low level, a distance of 70 feet. When this is accomplished it will give a very large body of stone for stoping out. For the last 'three weeks the men have been employed driving a cross-cut, to cut the large reet. This afternoon +'>c-r c-.tv across the reef and got some good specimens out. DAWN OP HOPE.

'.the work in connection with, this mine I is at present being carried on by contract under the supervision of the Company's Manager, Mr. Reid. On the lower, No. 1 3 level, they cut a leader at 235 feet in, then commenced' to follow it east and west. In the east side 82 feet has been gone, where it is 16 inches thick and looks very promising, gold having occasionally been seen. In the opposite direction, 85 feet has been driven, there it is fully 2 feet thick, of a good dark blue appearance. The crosscut is continued past the leader 82 feet, making the entire length of it 317 feet, and is now within 47 feet of the boundary of the (Juion Gold ?il iningCornpany ; before reach ins; their limits, a promising leader which is known to run through the hill is expected to be cut. DAUiSTLESS A.NI) SINK TO RISE. The company's manager was in town when I called, I must therefore content myself with giving your readers an outline of what is doing on the outside, which presents a vitality about the whole ground which is not discernible in any of the surrouudmg mines. "From the mouth oi the low tuiinel, a tramway 300 feet long is almost finished, and this, with a very slight incline, passes over the top of No. 4 platform, where the Government wagsons run directly under, and the Stuff is tipped at once, and carried away to the machiuc. To connect the upper tunnels with this, a tramway lias also been made from the mouth of the mid-tunnel to a shoot about 60 feet away, which, is 70 feet in length down the spur ; and here the miner tips his small truck, and it descends to the lower tramway, and is disposed of as mentioned, above. Prom the middle to the upper level a winze is risen, and here the stuff is sent down. The lower tramway is only temporary, and it is the intention of the company to make a siding for the Government waggons, which will run to the foot of the shoot, and avoid the necessity of further labor. Something like eighty tons of stone is to grass, and this is going at once to the mill to be crushed.

STAR OF FKIULANAG-H:

A correspondent, writing from the Thames j. last says:—"lt is currently reported' that tlie above company have got'.some very good specimens yesterday, but I, heard too la to to go on the ground aud inspect it, lint on calling it the legal manager's, IJjliud that several shareholders have been and paid back calls, and from this I am inclined to think that there is some truth in the report, but more particulars I shall gather during the evening.
