NON COMMISSIONED OFFICERS BALL.
The Sergeants of the 18th Regiment R. 1., now stationed in Auckland, gave a ball to their friends and acquaintances last night in the Music Hall, Symonds-street. In addilion to a large number of the citizens of Auckland, the officers of the Regiment and others now in garrison and their ladies were present. The selection of music by some of $he Baud of the Regiment 'was good, and such. as one has not always the pleasure and comfort of dancing to in Auckland. The programme contained the usual routiue of dances on such occasions, and every one present seemed to enjoy liimself very highly. The non-commis-sioned officers of this Regiment have made many friends in Auckland since their arrival, and this, their ball pour prendre conge, will bo lons remembered by those attending it as one of the most pleasant they have taken part in since the arrival of the .Regiment in the colony. In conclusion, we heartily wish the 18th a prosperous career wherever they may go.
