Mails close as follow :— For Mongonui, per Fiery Cross, this day, at 11 a.m. For Tarauaki and Southern Provinces of New Zealand, per s.s. Phcebe, this day, at 11 a.m. Telegraphic messages for transmission to the Southern Provinces, from the Nelson station, will be received at this ofliee till 11.30 a.m., and at Onehunga till 12.30 p.m. For Napier and the Southern Provinces of New Zealand, per s.s. Rangatira, this day, at 2 p.m. Telegraphic messages for transmission to the Southern Provinces, from the Napier station, will be received until 2.30 p.m. this day. Late letters bearing a fee of sixpence in addition to the postage will be received for thirty minutes after the time specified for closing the mails. For Shortland and Coromandel, per p.s. Duke of Edinburgh, this day, at 4.30 p.m. For the Australian Colonies, India, China, Mediterranean Ports, Continent of Europe, and United Kingdom, per s.s. Auckland, on Saturday, 18th inst. W.
