THE THAMES GOLDFIELD.

The share market for gold shares at the Thames was again very brisk on Saturday. Prices in proved good claims and companies are rapidly advancing. Some shares in the Thames Gold Mining Company were sold on Saturday at £'20, but later on none could be obtained at that price. Many offers were made at that rate, but were declined. The shares have thug doubled in price within a week, and we have no doubt but that they will be double the price now quoted in a very short time. The interest? of this Company are spread over the whole field, and include portions of ihe best claims. Among tbem are large interests in the Caledonia, Wild Missouri, Deep Lead, Long Drive, Dawn of Hope, -ldorado. Hand in Hand, Inverness, Eureka, I ixon's. Junction, Lucky Hit, Star of the South, Harp of Krin, and many other of the best proved claims on the field, shares in Long Drive are steadily going up, £160 was offered on v aturday. This week there will be the largest crushing of specimens that has yet taken place is this wonderful claim. The John O'Groats is coming rapidly into favour; the rich finds being made sending the shaies up from a mere nominal price to the sum, of £2,000 per share, at whi>;h rate interests were changing hands on Saturday. They will, no doubt, continue to rise in price, and from present appearances, this ciaim will take even higher position than some of its wealthy neighbours. A meeting of shareholders will be held on Wednesday evening at the Metropolitan Hotel, to make the necessary arrangements to form a company, and work the claim in a prope2 manner. Three scrips in the Homeward Bound claim changed hands at £600 on Saturday. A half working share in the .Redan claim was sold on Saturday for £230; and holders are asking £300 for a similar interest.
