The Pioneer Battery, at the head of the Moanataicri, crushed a quantity of stuff for the Star of the South claim, which yielded an ounce to the ton, although very little wa9 expected from it, as it was'merely a quantity ot debris and mixed stuff which had been lying on the claim for a length of time. The Lake Takapuna claim, twelve men's grevnd, close to Mclsaac's, has been turning out some rich stuff. A small parcel of stone ivas tried at the Bank of Australasia with good results.
GREAT YIELD FROM THE FEARNAUGHT CLAIM. We have learned from, the shareholders of the above claim that they have just finished crushing one ton of quartz, with which was mixed a quantity of specimens. The crushing gave two hundred ounces, less two pennyweights, a yield which will bear comparison with almost any on the field. We are aware that a different and inaccurate report of the above yield may appear outside the columns of this journal.—Thames Times, Feb-10.
