Mr. Staines to move, " That the petition of O. S. Ellis be now taken into consideration." Mr. Macreadv to move, " That a respectful address be presented to his Honor the Buperintcn dent, requeuing him to take immediate steps to urge upon the General Government the necessity ot issuing tenders for and securing a monthly mail servico between Auckland and Sydney, or Auckland, Sydney, and Melbourne, being no regular mail service between those ports at preeent, and it being mos-t desirable that this important province should have direct pistal communication with Australia.'
