His Lobdsiiip held a Confirmation Service for the Waiuku and Mauku district, at Mauku Churoh, on Thursday afternoon, let inst., at 3 o'clock. The Church -was well filled by a highly respectable congregation from tho surrounding neighbourhood.. His Lordship was assisted in the service by the Kev. V. liush. Six or eight young persona were confirmed by His Lordship, after having delivered a most impressive and appropriate discourse, from 18th chapt. St. Matthew's Gospel, 10th verse. .. After service, His Lordship and a number of tho congregation adjourned to Mr. Orispo's residence, Stanlake, and took tea; and in the evening His Lordship wab escorted by Mr. A. and Miss Urquliart and a number of ladioa' on horseback on his road to Mr. Urqubart's residence, Karaka, whore His Lordship wub to sojourn for the night, to hold a coLfirmation service and ■ administer the Holy Communion on the following morning. • His Lordship ..expressed, much pleasure, at the many improvements in the Patumahoe and Mauku district since ho was last there, and looked back to many both interesting r.nd painful reminiscences connected with the_neighbourhood. ... - .-- ,i
