ARBITRATION.
To the Editor of the Hebjjod. Sir, —Through the medium of your paper I wish to address a few words to the diggers on the Thames gold-fields. In such an extensive concern as the gold-fields differences will arise between parties; then, in nine aases out of ten, law is resorted to. One lawyer— sometimes two—are employed on each side. These lawyers argue the point in dispute the beat way they can, although often with a good deal of acerbity and bitterness on both sides, and after all the case iB decided'by tho Resident Magistrate. The miners generally earn their money by very hard work—what a pity they should throw it away upon law ! Is it absolutely impossible for the minors to settle their little disputes and differences without the intervention of either magistrate or lawyer, simply by arbitration ? Look at Mr. Busby, of the Bay of Islands, who, after thirty years' hard struggling with law, has got hiß case at last properly adjudicated by arbitration. Miners, go and do l'tkowiße. Pachew the expensive heart-burning entanglements of the law ; cease to lavish y»ur money on the lawyers, and settle your disagreements amicably by arbitration. By so doing you will find money in your own pockets, instead of having thrown it into the pockets of the lawyers. Try arbitration—it is simple and easy. Try it.—Tours, &c, A Fbibnt> op the Diq>obbs.
