THE GAME LAW.
To the Editor of the Hebaid. Srß,—For the information of those desirous of knowing, the following is the result of two divisions on the Game Law, so far as the Auckland members were concerned. The whipping clause—a clause worthy of the barbarou.B ages—was supported by Messrs.. Carleton, Farmer, Haultain, Heaphy, Kerr, and T. Macfarlane. The Bame clause was opposed by Messrs. Ball, Q-. Graham, Hull, and J. O'Neill. The third reading of the bill was supported by Messrs. Carleton, G. Graham, R. Graham, J. O'Neill, Heapby, T. Macfarlane, Williamnon, and Farmer (teller). None of the Auckland members voted againßt it, finding, no doubt, that opposition was useless. Messrs. Oarleton and Farmer were the warmest supporters of the bill; Messrs. Ball and Hull the most determined opponents. As Mr..Tames Williamson was absent from the Colony at tho time, the Mr. Williamson who supported the bill must have been—our Superintendent.—Yours, Sec, As Enbjtt to OrPBESSioH.
