POLICE COURT.— Wednesday.
(Before G. Graham, Esq., J.P., and J. Baber, Esq., J.P.) Drunkenness. — Michael Hogan, and Robert I Nelson were each charged with this offence, and ordered to pay a fine of ss. and costs, or in default to be imprisoned for 24 hours with hard labour. Michael Mullins was found.guilty of being a oom- | mon drunkard, and was ordered to be imprisoned for throe months and kept to hard labor. Stealing eboh a Shop.—James Stewart was charged with stealing from the shop of Patriok Martin, in Victoria-street West, on Tuesday evening, three white blankets, valued 15s.—He pleaded guiltyj but said he did it in a lark. Constable Murphy said the prisoner was convicted in October last of a similar offence having stolen sis blankets from the prosecutor, and for which he was sentenced to four months' imprisonment. Abusive Language.—The same prisoner was also charged with using abusive and threatening language towards Patrick Martin 1 ; to wit that he would take his-life on the first opportunity.—The prosecutor having proved the case, the Bench ordered the priso-nen-to find two sureties of £25 each to keep tjhe peace »td ,be of gqod behaviour for six months^—For the jfirst charge he wa3 ordered to be imprisoned for eix months and kept to bard labor. —The six months for the second offence to run after the expiration: of the .first term of imprisonment This concluded'the business.
