AUCKLAND CATTLE MARKET.
MR. ALFRED BTJCKIiAND's WEEKLY EEPORT. At the Haymarket, on Saturday last, fodder was in usual enquiry, and -without variation in price; rye grass seed brought from 2s to 3s ; cocksfoot, 6s 6d ; Cape barley, 3s 6d; and oats. 3s 6d the bushel. A superior draught mare, £30; medium draught horse stock, from £6 10b to £14 ; hacks, from 40s. At "Henderson's Mill, on "Wednesday, about 70 head of cattle were penned, and above 60 head sold. There was a numerous attendance, and good prices ruled. The sale held at Waiuku, on Wednesday, was but thinly supplied with stock ; not half »b many as ÜBual; the attendance was also more limited. For the stock brought forward there was good competition, and th 6 prices obtained were in advance of those ruling nearer Auckland. .Leicester lambs, equrl sexes, brought 14s 6d each; dairy cows, from£9 12s 6d to £14 15s; calves, 35s to 425; yearlings, 75s each. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cattle at their calving were in better request. Store Cattle offered sparingly and were also in better enquiry. Fat cattle were in moderate supply, and met with a very irregular market, but the average price obtained was higher than last week. For breeding ewes there wa» a good enquiry, and all offered were sold at a considerable advance over last weeks' prices. Fat sheep of good quality were also better worth, but middling quality were comptratively unsaleable. Few pigs were pennedi Small-sized porkers fit for slaughter sell higher than other descriptions of stock. JtESSBS. W. HU/NTES ANT> CO.'S WEHEXY HEPOSr. On Saturday last there was a good number of horseß; nearly all were sold. Good hacks sold from £7 ss' to £12 ss. each ; draught horses from £9 10s to £12 each. Some good oats, from Wangarei, sold from 3s 9d to 4s 6d per bushel. On Tuesday List, at Isewmarket there, was a good number of cattle, the greater pait were sold. Dairy cows were scarce ; they sold from £9 10s to £11 12s 6d each ; backward springers, from £7 10s to £8 12s 6d eack. Of store cattle there was a good number j 2-year old steers, £4 2s 6d each ; 3-year old steers, from £5 7s 6d to £6 7s 'd; calves, £2 6s each ; 2-year old heifers, from £4 15a to £5 10s each. Fat Cattle-: 'there was a fair supply, all in were sold at from 30s to oos per lOOiba. Sheep Market: 'there was a good number of sheep, half-breds sold from 14s to 22s 6d. There were no am bs i:i the market. Pig Market: There was very few ; all in were sold at pood prices. "VVaiuku Sale, on Wednesday, there was very few cattle, nearly all in wero sold. l)niry cows were scarce, they sold from £9 to £9 10s each ; two-year-aid steers sold from £3 12s fid to £4 23 (id : calves, from £1 2s 6d to £1 2s 6d each. There was a good number of pigs, which sold at aood prices.
