We have received a loiter from Mr. Fontcra. as Chairman of the Choral Society, declining to move.further in the matter oftracinL- the authorship of the letter signed ''A I.ady Amateur." and reeoinniendine us to do so. If it is not worth while for the iiiemhers of the Choral Society to investigate the matter, we certainly cannot understand why the letter slumM have created such a flutter anions: them. Enough lias, we think, been made of the atfair. We shall, of course, endeavour to trace the authorship. The letter in itself was a perfeotlv justifiable one. but the writer was undoubtedly tniiltv of wroni; in usiiii: the name of another party. cannot undertake to discuss the expediency or justice of the decisions in the inferior law courts. Our correspondent W.r.F. can obtain redress, if aggrieved, by carrying the case, not into the columns of the press, but into a superior
