RECEPTION OF HIS EXCELLENCY SIR G. F. BOWEN.
We understand that a letter was received by his Honor the Superintendent ou s aturday by the ' Ahuriri,' from his Kxeellency Sir G. F. Bowen, informing his Honor that he would positively leave Wellington for Auckland by the Falcon on the Bth. His Excellency endeavoured to induce Lord Lyttelton to accompany him to Auckland, but his Lordship expressed his regret that he would be compelled to forego the pleasure of a visit to the iNorth as it was necessary that he should tako his departure for England by the Panama boat that mouth. His Excellency, after witnessing his Lordship's embarkation and bidding him farewell, wi l ! come on to Auckland, where he hope.-, to arrive by the 12th instant. We believe his Excellency's stay on this occasion will necessarily be short, but that he hopes to pay a prolonged visit to this province accompanied by Lady Bowen at no distant day. \ copy of the address adopted by the Provincial Council has been transmitted to His Excellency and has met with his entire approval. His reply will, of course, be reserved until his arrival.
