Mr. Cametok to ask tho Provincial Treasurer, What Bumn were actually realized and brought into the Provincial Treasury, beloro the first day of January, 1868, out of thoss sums ent down as assets of the Provincial Government of Auckland on the 10th December, 1867, in the Btatement laid on the table by the Provincial Treasurer on the 11th Decomber, 1867 ? . NOTICES OF MOTION. Mr. Ball to move, That the report of the Private Grievance Committee on the petition of Mr. Thomas Macfarlane, included in their interim report No. 3, session XV, 1863, be referred to the Petitions Committee, in order that tho neceeaary steps may be taken for bringing the ciso under the operation of clauao 30 of the Auckland Waste Land Act, 1867. Tho report is as follows: "Your Committee are of opinion that the case of Mr. T. Macfiirlune, who prasonted his land order boyoud tho term specified by law, should bo recommonded as ono to bo brought within the provisions of an Act proposed to be introduced to the General Assembly by u previous resolution of this'Committeo, roforring to David Fort's cases." Dr. Mchoison to move, 'JL'hit an Address he presantod to Hia tJonor the .-'uperiotendent requesting him to withdraw from sale allotments 6 and 8, of section 14, in Onehunga, as advertised to be sold on the 28th of January. Mr. Newman to move. That in the opinion of tliU Council it is not desirablo to soil such as tho ono at Mount Hobson and Orakei Bridge, and that a rospoctful Address be presented to ilii Honor the Superintendent requesting him to withdraw the notice ior sale. Mr. Macleak to move, That tho Report of the Select Committee on tho Sheep Act Itepoal Bill, be adopted. Mr. Cjieeskman to movo, That tho Petition of Mr. R. Graham be referred to the Committee on Petitions. OEDEK OF THK DAT. MessHgeNo. 14, under consideration—Adjourned Debate on tho Amendment proposed to be made to the Question, Thtst tho Resolution come to by this Council, on tbe 9th day of January instant, upon the Education question, viz., —" That a respectful address bo presented to Hie Honor the Superintendent, requesting hi n to send down to this Council a Bill to ropciil tho ' education Act, 1857,' and to introduce a new menmiro this Session," —bo rescinded. And which Amendment waj , To loavo out all the viorda after the first word "That" in order to add th» following :— " A respactful Address be presentoi to Elis Honor tho Superintendent requesting him to send down a now Educational Bill on tho basis of taxation."
