Tho ministerial candidates are most in favour. Flour ia more fitmly held at Adelaide. H. R. H. the Duke of KdinLurgh was enthusiastically received at Saudhurdt. He was to visit Ballarat race , . Two men wero sovoro'y injurod and a boy was killed by the fireworks at Sandhurst. The weather was terribly hot at Adelaide—lo9 in the shade. The new ball room in Sandhurst was burned to the ground half-anhour before tho appointed time for the ball given in honor of H. R. JI. tho Duke of Edinburgh. Groat disappointment and inconvenience wore occasioned in consequence; but tho ball was hold in tho Town HaH, which is a commodious building. A dispateh hns been received from the Imperial authorities disapproving of the postal agreement made by the Intercolonial Conference. The Post-master-General ha? declined to adviss Ifer Majeefcy to grant the proposed subsidy for tho three lines, and recommends tho colonies concerned to reconsidor the subject. Some of the farmers in South Australia whoso ciops hove failed have applied to the Government for the wnerewith to purohase seed wheat. No definite reply has jet been returned. Parliament has given Ministers full powers to act herein as circumstances may appear to demand during the recess.
