ST. ANDREW'S LODGE.
A dinner, in clebration of the festival of St. Andrew, was held at the lodge-room, Star Hotel, last evening. The Eight Worshipful Master of the Scotch Constitution, Brother Thomas Macfarlane, presided on the occasion, and discharged his duties in a most satisfactory manner. About sixty of the brethern were present, amongst whom were several membeis of the other lodges in Auckland. The dinner was most creditably served up by Brother Macready, every delicacy of the season being provided for the occasion. The lodge was opened in the first degree, and the conviviality of the evening was commenced with the benediction. The usual toasts were proposed and drank with all masonic honors, ana were received with the greatest enthusiasm. The most important feature of the evening was the presentation of a handsome silver tea service to the Eight Worshipful Deputy Provincial Grand Master, Brother Beveridge, for the very valuable services rendered by him during the five consecutive years he has occupied the chair in the above lodge. The presentation was made by E. W. M., Brother Macfarlane, who delivered a most impressive address, and expressed his regret that he was leaving the chair. E.W.D.P.G.M., Brother Beveridge, thanked theE.W.M., and brethren of the lodge, for the very snbstantial token of their esteem and appreciation of his services during the period in which he had officiated as Eight Worshipful master. We hold over our report of the proceedings until to-morrow.
