On Saturday night last a meeting took place, at Mr. Thomas Mclnnesa' Hotel, of the pensioners who arrived per ahips ' M inerVii,' 1 Sir Robert Sale,' and ' Sir George Seymour,' for the purpose of forming a committee of management to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of their arrival.
The following pensioners wore duly elected to form a committee:—Messrs. Fitzpatrick, Mabkay, Garrett, Turber, Nichols, Robinson, and Winepress.
The following resolutions were then passed:— " That the dinner shall take place on the 17th of October." "That any pensioner or sons of pensioners can join the festivities by becoming subscribers." " That a subscription list be opened, and that tho subscription be not less than ,ss. each." Bech one in the room then placed his name on the list for that amount.
Tho committee decided to meet next Saturday, a' the same hour and place, to make their final arrange ments.
