PROVINCIAL GAZETTE.
A Peovincial Gazette was published yesterday which will be found in full in our weekly issue. It contains a large number of public notifications. The Papakura v alley district under the 3rd section of the Highways Act, 1867, is to be_ called the Papakura district, and the Paparoa district, is to be called the " district of Paparoa, parish of Pakuranga." Under the same authority notice is given of the alteration and definition of a number of Highway districts, including _ the following :—East Taroaki, "Whangarei, Wairoa, Waitakerei west, Waitakerei east, Pukekohe, Waipu, Wareora, Waitakerei south, Turanga, Wairau, and Papakura.
Also a notification proclaiming the following districts: —Maretai,Manurewa;Hunua,Karaka, Maketu, Waiuku, Waipipi, Awitu, Waikomiti., Waipareira, Komokoriki, Kaukapakapa,Tauhoa, Pulioi, Warehine, Albertland North, and_ Albertland South, Mairetahi, Muriwai, Weita, Omaha, Orarimu, Pakiri, Matakana, Waiheki, Coromandel, Mercury Bay, Great Barrier Island, Opotiki,.Matata, Te Awahou, Tauranga, Waimapu, Mangawai, Owhiwa. Tatarariki, Waikahikatea, Mareretu, Tauraroa, Burangi, Waikaekie, Hikurangi, Whakapirau, Pakearoro, Manaia, Okahu, Omaru, Mataikohe, Huakaka, Mangapai, Maungataupere, Komokorau, Newcastle, Karamu, Pirongia, Watawata Mangapiko, Hamilton, -Kangiaoliia, Kirikiriroa, Cambridge and Pukekura districts. ; Under tlie 4th clause of the act, the Highways Act, 1867, is ' brought into operation in the following districts—Waitakerei East, Waiuku, Albertland North, Hunua, Pukekohe, and Kaiaha. The first meetings of such, districts will take place respectively at the WheatSheaf, Auckland; Campbell's Hotel, Waiuku ; Mr. it. Wharfe's residence, Papakura Hotel, School-house- Pukehohe, and Young's Hotel, Drury, all on the Ist October next.
