THE GREAT WORLD CIRCUS.

The performance at this attractive scene of modern wonders in equestrianism, and feats of acrobatic or gymnastic kind, was again witnessed by a respectable and appreciative assemblage last evening, the Auckland Rifle Volunteers and the fife and drum band of the .Navals mustering in considerable force. The entertainment was of the usually first-class character, the irresistible comicalities and " broad grins " of the favorite Shakesperian jester, Mr. Cooke, making the very dullest " peep through their eyes and laugh like parrots at a bagpiper." The ludicrous whimsicalities of Billy Buttons and Starveall in the afterpiece were inimitable.

To-night will be produced on a grand scale, " The Battle of Waterloo," in which the Rifle and Naval Volunteers will take part, with the drum and fife band. Haying seen a rehearsal of the piece wecan safely foretel without hesitation that it cannot possibly fail to meet with the popularity it deserves. Nothing has been neglected to produce this startling and thrilling drama on a scale of unrivalled magnificence, and no entertainment on so extensive or so exciting a character has ever yet been attempted in Auckland. Those who have seen Mr. Cooke as Molly Malony, pronounce it to be one of the best, if not the very best of his characters, in which his wonderful originality and truthfulness of impersonation have full scope. We trust the performance if this evening will be as well patronised as the spirited enterprise and energy displayed in its production deserve. ,
