Lord Ashley, the registered letter, and money order mails will close at two, and the mails for ordinary letters and newspapers at three p.in, on Wednesday, 12th instant. For Tauranga, and the Southern provinces of New Zealand Australian Colonies, Mauritius, Ceylon, India, &c. Mediterranean Ports and Continent of Europe, per s.s Lord Ashley, the registered letter, and money order mails will close at two, and the mails for ordinary letters and newspapers, at three p.m., on Wednesday, the 12th inst. POST-OFFICK SAVT&GS BANK.—The Savings Bank of the Chief I'ost-ofllcc in Auckland is open every day for receipt and repayment of deposits during the hours appointed for the transaction of money-order business. Hranch Saving! Banks have been opened at Mongonui, Kussell, Wangurei, Onebunga. Otahuhu, Newcastle, Cambridge, Alexandra, Kaglan, and iauranga. These Bauks arc also open every duy during the hours of money-order business, Interest at the rate ol 5 i>er cent, per annum is allowed on sums not exceeding 1200. W. COKBE'IT, Chief Postmastor.
