KAURI GUM MARKET. Receipts this week, 48 tons. By advices dated January 22, 1867, we note a slight decline on tho home market from 3s to 5s per cwt. The imports have been for the twelvemonths

about 2200 tons, and importers generally, especially during tho last six months, have been free sellers, considering which, with tho increased supplies and absence of speculation, prices have beon well maintained. Wo quoto tho following as our prices on tlrs market: — Thoroughly scraped 35s Medium Bcraped, in kits ... 2Gs to 253 Inferior scraped, in kits ... 16s — ISs Papakurn, well scraped 23s — 2Gs It may afford some satisfaction to those who so often say that tho kauri gum is getting worked out, and the natives will not dig, that the imports on tho London market in 18G5 was 1600 tons ; in 18GG the quantity was 2200 tons, or, in round numbers, GOO tons more ; and why should this not continue ? As tho country opens up, and roads or tramways are made, so the interior will bo worked, and there is no question but that thousands of tons are yet to be dug out, whore willing hands pursue that avocition. By the same advices wo find that Now Zealand flax, cleaned and prepared, would sell readily. W. J. HURST & CO.'3 PRODUCE Prices Cuuui:>r-r t?ou Week ending April 12.
