THE WHAU.
According to intimation, a public meeting was field at the residence of Mr. Bollard, on the evening of the 27th instant, Mr. Buchanan Tras voted to the chair. Mr. O. A. Kayson acted as Secretary, and Mr. Bollard was appointed Treasurer pro tern. Tlie follovring propositions put to the meeting and agreed to : That a public Hall bo crecteJ. and H committee of Bix persons and a chairman bj elected, with power to add to the number, to carry out this object. That Messrs. T. Sansom, F. Gittos, Bollard, D. Henderson, O. A. Kayson, and L. H. Hollo way, ba appointed a committee to raise subscriptions. That tho Treasurer be empowered to receive subscriptions in any sums. That three Trustees ho appointed, to tlio conveyance of a Mte for a Public Hall he made. That Pr. Aicken, Mr. Bollurd, and Mr. Buchanan be elected Trustee?. A vote of thanks was passed to the chairman. Subscriptions to the amount of £40 w as collected in the room.
