GENERAL GOVERNMENT GAZETTES.

New Zealand Government Gazettes were published on tae Bth, 15th, 20th, and 23rd instant. The contents of the 20th was noticed in our issue of yesterday. That of tho Bth contains, amongst other matter of no interest to this province, a notice to mariners, drawing attention to a change in the channel over the bar at Hokianga, and a notice to mariners issued by the Government of Mauritius.

The Gazette of the 15th contains notice of the extinguishment of Native title over the Ruapekapeka block, 21,303 acres, Bay of Islands. A notification that the following persons, namely, Messrs. Brown, Campbell and Co., Louis Bucholz, Butt and Anderson, W. J. C'awkwell, M. T. Clayton, Coombes and Daldy, Cruielcshank, Smart & Co., S. J. Edmonds, Walter Grahame, S. W. Hill, Harris and Laurie, Henderson and Macfarlane, E. It. Isaacs, 11. M. Jervis, J. S. Macfarlane, D. Nathan, Owen and Graham, E. Rich, J. Robcrton, C.J. Stone, and W. J. Young, hud been duly licensed to act as Custom House agents at the port of Auckland for the year ending December 31st, ISG7—and A. Barnes, W. D. Brewer, A . Christe}', and E. W. Walker at the Port of Onehunga.

The Gazette of the 23rd notifies that tho Highways Act, 1567, and the Impounding Act, IS(J7 of the Prorince of Auckland have been left to their operation by his Excellency. E. A. Braithwaitc, Esq., has been appointed Deputy Registrar of mai-riages, births, and deaths fv r tlic Province of Auckland. The commission of Ensign John Brown, Auckland Militia, has been cancelled. The followinc; appointments have also been made. Bay of Plenty Cavalry Volunteers : J. Gwynneth, Captain; J. Thompson, Lieutenant; H. C. W. Rigg, Cornet. Messrs. D. Gibson, James Stewart, and — Turnbull, have been appointed Inspectors of Steamboats for the colony of New Zealand, and Messrs. Jas. Stewart and E. Hamilton to be Engineer Surveyors under the provisions of tho Steam Navigation Act, ISGG.
