The receipts for the month of Sept. were £15,778 03. 6d., and that for the quarter ending the same date £40,454 14s. 3d. Tho following is the report of tho timbar sale hold on Saturday last by C. Gd.; 9 x 1, 4a 6d. to Vs.; 6xl, 4s. to 55.; 6 x 2, 4s. to 55.; 6x 3, 4s. 9d. to ss. 3d.; 4x 3, 3s. to 6s. 3d.; 12 xl,l2xJ, 12 x I£, 12 x 2, 4s. to 7s. j 15 x 1, Bs. 6d. KAURI GUM. Advices from the home market report a slight decline in this article, but not sufficient to declare tho price lower here. There is but little offering on the wharf, and prices may be quoted as follows :—Good ordinary in kits, 18s to 245; well scraped and in casos, 33s to 365. Wo are glad to inform our friends on the Waikato and Papakura Flats, that the quality of the gum produced from these districts turns out, on trial in England, to bo of better quality than was anticipated. —Waikato gum, well scraped, 15s to 18s; Papakura well scraped, 10s to 20s.
