Diocesan' Synod.—The annual session of the Svnodical Council for the Diocese opened on the 18th inst. The members attended at Stj» Mary's Church, Parnell (prayers being read by Dr. Maunsell), and partook of the holy communion. The Council afterwards adjourned to the " Bishop's Library" (His Lordship tha Bishop of New Zealand in the chair), and tha business of the Council was inaugurated by aa addresn from, the Eight Bev. President.
