XIIE ISA ZIEGLER, Our old favourite the ship Ida Zjegler, Captain A. L. Koynolds, Bailed from Plymouth for this port On the 23rd July, villi a general cargo and several passengers, THE SILVER EAGLE, Tho ship Silver Eagle, Captain Bobs, haying discharged her troops at Plymouth, proceeded on to London to? discharge her cargo. Sho arrived af Gravesend on. the 6th July, and was run into of! Blackball that morning by the b.s. Conquest. The Echunga, Captain Cooper, arrived in the Rivei Thames from. Otago, New Zealand, reports that in hit- ti 1 S., long' i) 7 V> ~ aha saw about 90 large icebergs, which formed it complete barricade across the sliip's way as far as the eyo could reach from the masthead. She stood to the N.W. for two days, then tacked and stood to the eastward, and saw no more ic e - Tho other afternoon, a gentleman on Bedcar Sands picked np a bottle floating on the breakers, and op opening it found that it contained a pipco of papei written on both sidos. The following is a copy of the document: —" Lost all hands on board, in the G-er-mau Occaii. Whoever finds this, forward it to Mrs, tihepard, No. 4, Frederick-row, Walworth, London No hopes. The ship is sinking in a storm. Can Write no morr. My heart is broken." A bottle lias been found at Davonport, containing a paper, on which was written" Monarch of the Seas. Loft Liverpool, 19th March, May 2, no wind, short of provisions, and no water. In a gale, 3rd April, tat. 25 dog. 20 min. N., long. 47 deg. 8 min. W.—Wni. Johnson, passenger." Loss op AN E.miqiiant Ship.—All hopes entertained for tho safety of the Monarch of the Seas, freighted with G.'il) passengers, seem at length dispelled by the discovery of one of hir lifj-boats, which had been washed upon the Irish coast, near Kerry, together with a number of dead bodies. The Monarch of tho Souk .left Liverpool for Now York on the 10th of last March, under tho Command oi Captain Kirkaldy, and a crew of GO men. According to the Custom house clearance paper, she hai 639 cabin and Steerage passengers on board. Of these 590 wero adults, men and women and GO children. Tlio ship was in excellent trim, and had a fino run down tho channel, when tho pilot loft- her. Since that timo nothing has been heard of her. The boat picked up on the coast of Kerry is believed to be one belonging to her. It was found on July I.oth and the bodies washed on shore appear to have come from, an emigrant ship. Identity is said to be utterly impossible, owing to tho state they are in. The prevailing opinion among experienced captains in -t-ht New York trade is that tho Monarch of the Seas foundered among the icebergs in the Atlantic.— Home News, July 20th. "
