Notwithstanding the veto of President Johnson, tlio bill in referenco to the bureau for, the enfranchised negroes, known as the Fraedmen's Bureau. Bill,, .had been adopted on the 18th by both the Chambers. President Johnson had sighed the bill fixing tho internal revenues. The measure was to come into operation in September. The export duty oh cotton ia definitely fixed at three cents, per lb. Stephens, the head centre of the Feniarijj, heß been arrested for debt.
