:. AUCKLAND. ! I New Zealand Heraid Office, ' Friday aftornoon. The Cuatoms Receipts for to-day amounted to £353 9s. 3<H. To-day Mc-'Sh. Turrull and Tonks held a clearance sale of boot* and shoes at the shop of Mr. H. Forgham, Queen-street, by order of the trustees. There was a good attendance, tlio bidding brisk, and goods realized fair prices. Mr. L. W. Ka r on sold to-day Hobart Town apples at from 2Jd to 3icl per lb. AUCKLAND CATTLE MARKET. MESSKS. We have to report that the supply of Fat Cattle at our yards on Monday were not large.—but these that wen- in brought uitreine rates, fully fifty-five shillings the hundred pounds. The demand was in i.-xcess of the euppl v. Store Cattle in good condition were plentiful. A lot of well-grown three year old steers brought from ten pounds iive shillings to eleven pounds. The demand for the latter class continues great. ' Dairy Cows. —There was a considerable number of 1 this slass of stock in the market. Prices are much down to what they have been. Good average qualitv animals from twelve to Jifteen pounds. ■ (.'alves were in large supply, and sold well. ! Saeep Market.— \Ve had a full market of half- ' bred sheep from Wang.uiui, which were all sold. Prices ranged from twouty-seven. to thirty-six shillings each. We consider the fat sheep market steady, with a highly upward tendency. The market has been barely supplied with good qualities of provincial fatted store sheep very scarce in the market, and considerable demand for them. Otuhuhu Sale. —AVe had a fair number of store cattle at thin market. A lot from Napier, in low ' condition, ranged from five pounds to eight pou s. Other class of these stoek were about the same as at Newmarket. A lot of store merino wethers brought twenty-one shillings each. Sale.—A tour yard* on Saturday last there was a fair show of horses, mostly light harness and saddle; also, a few draught, horses, but not fir.itclass. Mostly all that were in sold. There is considerable demand for fresh stock of all classes, and prices are higher,—but the market is very indiiferpritly supplied, oxceptiug with old used-up animals, which are too numerous. Hay was worth four to five pounds a,ton ; Sydney maize, lis. ; Now Zeabnd ditto, 7s. !)d.; feod a ts, ss. Ltd. to Os. ; seed ditto, Jt, to 7s. tid. Mil. ALI'IIED IiUCK I.A Nil's WEEKLY EEPOET. Owing'to the inclement weather, hay was shorf. supplied at the Havmarket on Saturday lust, and prices advanced about Is. the cn-t. Maize brought Gs. fid. to <')s. 9u.; bran Is. 6d. to Is. Sd. tho bushel. Th? horse stock brought- forward was of indifferent quality and was scarcaly saleable, but little business was transacted. At Otahuhu on Tuesday there was a largo muster of stock—2ll lieud oi" cattle and 263 sheep sold. A full attendance of buyers, and tho prices obtained were satisfactory ; two years old, in low condition, from £.~> 7s Gd to .-€7 ->-»; three years old, £0 to £11 7.-) G1; cows, £7 10s to £9 10s; half-bred wethers, l'7s ; ewes, with Jambs at side, 31. All penned were sold. At Newmarket, on Thursday, there was a full supply of fat cattle, many of them of large size, but of indifferent quaiity. The greater number of cattle of this description were purchased by tho graziers, and brought from £14 10s to £15 os. Prime fatted cattle fully maintained last week's rates, second quality were rather easier. IJuiry cattle wcro in fair supply, prices rather lower. No ctore sheep offered. Fat sheep were in full supply ; prime ppns were well competed for, and those of second quality sold/roely. Pigs were plentiful, and much lower in price than a month since.
