ARRIVAL OF H.M.3. ECLIPSE. H.Ttf.S.S. Eclipse, Captain Freemantle, arrived in harbour at an early hour yesterday morning, after a good run of six days and-a-half from Sydney. She left Port Jackson at 1 a.m. on the 14th, with the English mail for the naval squadron, and experienced fine weather throughout; mauing the passage partly under steam and partly under sail. No vessels were sighted. H.M.K.S. Challenger, had arrived at Sydney from England. . The P. and O. Co. s.s. Madras arrived at Sydney •withj the mails, on Thursday, the loth inst., at 1.30 p.m. The Auckland mails were to leave by the s.s. Auckland on the 17th, at noon. On the passage down the Kclipse was hove to for two hours olf Piercv's Island, whilst her crew was exercised at shot and shell practice from the big guns. The Eclipse, which has been almost made a new boat of since her last visit here, leaves for England at the beginning of next month. Renner, left Wellington on the 17th instant at 5 p.m.; arrived at Napier on the 18th at 4 p in. ; left Napier on the 19th at 1 p.m. ; arrived at on the 20th at 8 p.m ; left'l'auranga at 11 p.m. same day ; called at Kamu Island at 11.30 a m.; left at 12.30' and arrived here at 2.30 p.m. yesterday. Experienced strong head wind and sea throughout the passage. Lord Ashley, Captain Hagley, had arrived tat Wellington from this port, and sailed again for rthe South on the 17th. Thb Sea Bkeeze.—Tbe schooner Sea Breeze, Captain W. Norris, from Russell, arrived at the Tamaki yesterday, bringing a cargo of 20 head cattle, 10 tons kauri gum, kits dried fnh ; also the following passengers —Mr. Dixon, Mr. Williams, Mr. iialp. and 5 in the steerage. She will come up harbour thb morning. The 'barque Annie Melhuish is announced to sail for Newcastle and Sydney on Thursday next. The P.N.Z. and A.K.M. Co.'s s.s. Auckland, Capt. Harris, arrived at Sydney from this port on tho Sth ■instant, six days out She was to sail again on the 17th, and may therefore be looked for to-day. The barque, Novelty, Captain Austen, which •arrived at Sydney on the 2nd instant, was positively to sail again on the loth, and may, therefore, now bs •considered duo. The King Oscar has made a clipping run from Mauritius of 30 days, and Captain Blix has furnished ns with English news to the 11th Ji]y. The Jessie Kelly had not arrived.—Sydney Herald, Sept. 10. The brig Europa, Captain McDonald, henc?, arrived at Newcastle on the 4th instant, and left .again for Adelaide on the 7th. The schooner Sea Gull, Captain Nolan, ariived at Melbourne from the Kaipara on the Oth inst., after a fine Jain. The s.s. Salamander, Captain Skeene, arrived on -Saturday morning in distress, having been run into iby the s.s. Tararua, in Bass's Straits, on the night of "Tuesday, the 4th instant. The barque Kate Waters, having discharged her cargo of cattle, came up from the 'I'amaki last evening to ship stores. The ship Rob Roy, Captain Sangster, cleared at the Customs yesterday for Callao in ballast, and will .sail to-day. The schooners Saucy Lass, Joanna, and Queen, tall sailed from Napier for thia pert with cattle on •the 17th instant. The cutter Betsey was loading, .to sail on the 19th.
