Tho Panama, New Zealand, and Australian Royal Mail Company's steamer Phcobe, R. il. Ferguson, commander, arrived in tho Manukiu on the 25th ins j., at 11 am. Tho cause of her lato arrival was tho blustering 6tato of tho wnather at midnight of the 23rd, tho time appointed for leaving Nelson, tho pilot not deeming it prudent to take tho vessel out till 1 p.m. the following day ; sho was also detained at Wellington by tho Government for over 24 hours beyond her appointed time for leaving.
