[ Sin,—Can you inform me why it is that the Eagle, now lying at Onehunga, should clear at the Customs at Auckland wlion thero is a Custom-house at this port ? The Eagle has no bonded goods onboard, and it does saem strange to mo that she should havo been permitted to clear at Auckland. I am, Jlc., J. H. Onehunga, Jan. 24th, ISGG. Sib.—Through the medium of your paper, I bog leave to contradict, n roport that is at present circulated, viz., that I havo secreted and mado use of the cargo, or part of tho cargo, of tho St. Hilda. I bog leave here to state that from the leaving of that vessel from Sydney, until tho present hour, I have Dot received one particle of tho said cargo. I am, &e., William Lloyd. Wangaruru, Jan. 20.
