TO THE ELECTORS OF MARSDEN. ENTLEMEN, —As you will soon be called upon VX to elect a member to represent your interests in the General Assembly of New Zealand, I beg again to offer myself as a candidate for your suffrages. Having attended in my place in the House of Representatives, aa your member during the whole of tho last Parliament, I am conveTsant with the various political plans and organizations that have existed, or exist, which bear on your interests, and those of the Province at large. As a Marsden settler, lam also familiar with your wants and wishes, and should you do me the honor of again electing me your representative, I will not fail to support those measures which I know and feel will be to your advantage, and oppose those which I believe will prove detrimental to them. I am strongly in favour of Reparation ; I think that on the attainment of this the prosperity of the North deponds. I will be prepared to support, therefore, any proposal for complete Separation from the South island, end withdrawal from the influence of Southern politicians. It will also be my endeavour to encourage the introduction of population into the Province, and to promote tho permanent settlement of the country ; on the success that may attend the effort in this direcrection will mainly depend the future prosperity of the Province of Auckland, and especially of Mersden, which so much needs a resident and improving population. I am induced to come forward and again offer my services to you, at the request of a large number of the electors, and with the approbation of several of the most influential of my late colleagues. Should you do me the honor of returning me as your repre- -. sentative, it will ho my duty, as it has been my plea- • sure, to co-operato in all things with my brother representatives, for your bcnefic and that of the Province. I remain, Gentlemen, Your obedient servant, JOHN MUNRO. Marsden, January, 1866. TO THE EuECTORS OF THE PENSIONER SETTLEMENTS.
