PUBLIC NOTIFICATION. "Waste Lauds Office,. Auckland, 4th January, 1866. IT is hereby notified for general information, that all future applicants for Crown Grants of Land selectod under the Immigration provisions of the " Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1858," and "Auckland Waste Land Act Ainondmont Act, 1862," will bo required to accompany their applications with a certificate as follows :— " I do hereby certify that the parties whose names appear ill the accompanying application, have, to the best of my belief, cach resided in the Province of Auckland from the dav of to tiie day of rjlember of General Assembly | or Provincial Council; Signature of-j justico of the Peace; ] or of a I Minister of Religion. And make this solemn declaration, conscientiously believing the same to be true, ami by virtue of the provisions of an Act made and passed in the sth and lith years of tlio reign of his late Majesty, intituled 'An Act to repeal an Act of the present session of Parliament, intituled—An Act for the more effectual abolition of oaths ami affirmations taken and made in various departments of the State, and to substitute declarations in lieu thereof, and for the inoro entire suppression of voluntary and cxtra-judicial oatlisand affidavits, and to make other provisions for the abolition of unnecessary oaths.'" Suburbs.—On Wednesday, the 2-lth instant, for the Militia, Cavalry, and other Volunteers. 2. Competitors to ho on tho ground by half-past 10 o'clock, a.m. Firing to commence at 11. 3. Ammunition will he issued to competitors at the Militia Office, between the hours of 10 and 4 o'clock, on Monday rest, 22nd instant, 4. TENDERS EOS MAIL STEAM SERVICE BETWEEN OTAGO AND MELBOURNE. TENDERS will he received at this office, to the 25th February, 1860, for the PERFORMANCE for three (3) months, from 18th March, 1866, OF THE MAIL STEAM SERVICE BETWEEN OTAGO AND MELBOURNE, at present performed by the 'Albion' and ' Rangitoto.' The conditions of contract will be tho same as those published in the " New Zealand General Government Gazette," No. 44, of the 18th November, 1865, with the exception of tho duration and notice of termination. The contractor or contractors will bo hound to convey to Melbourne the New Zealand Mails, leaving Port Chalmers on the 18th June. Copies of the Gazette above referred to, may be eeen at any of the Chief Post Offices in the Colony.
