The " occasion had been looked forward to with considerable interest, which was justified by the event, for nothing could have been more" successful or attended with greater eclat. The room was profusely decorated with those national colors, emblems, trophies, and ornaments, in the disposition of which the officers of both services have such admirable taste, and under which it is sufficiently known what they are prepared to do and sacrifice.
